Water Supply Shortage Plan

As part of a larger water conservation plan, TVWD has a curtailment plan to guide staff and customers in the event of a water shortage. Water curtailment actions may be taken in the case of the following events:

• Drought
• Extreme Turbidity
• Contamination of Water Supplies
• Supply Interruptions (such as major water transmission line break or reservoir failure)
• Contractual Considerations

Depending on the severity and the length of the event, curtailment could range from voluntary water use reduction to a 50% mandatory reduction of all water use.
