What is TVWD doing?

TVWD is in the planning and design stages of a project to upgrade the site's undersized electrical transformer, convert the backup power generator from a natural gas generator to a diesel generator with sound barriers, and replace aging electrical equipment such as pump motors. These improvements to the Florence Lane Pump Station are to reliably supply the upper elevations of TVWD's Metzger service area for future generations. This project is a $3.1 million investment in the water system serving this area, paid using funds from regular water bills.

This project will also include replacing certain underground water mains to improve and modify the existing water system. This will allow for future system modifications necessary for operational changes when the new Willamette water source supplies the Metzger area.

TVWD is planning to repaint and seal the roofs of the two reservoirs prior to or during this project as well.

How can I stay informed?

This project is awaiting the design proposal for electrical engineering. Electrical transformers are expected to take two years to arrive after order once design is completed and approved.

This project's schedule is largely driven by the need to complete the improvements prior to the 2026 start of the new Willamette water source. Please sign up for email updates to be notified of any updates to the project's schedule.

Future Neighborhood Outreach

TVWD will host neighborhood outreach meetings, both virtual and in-person, once a contractor is hired and construction schedules are more well known. These meetings will aim to education people who live near the site on the process, how to remain engaged in the project, and what to expect during construction.

How does this affect me?

Construction Plans

As site designs and construction plans are created, modified or updated, the current versions will be available here for neighbors to remain aware and engaged throughout the process from permitting, design and through construction.
